Where do you take your inspiration?
Thanks to my Dad I have enjoyed writing fun poems for family and friends since I was a teenager.
Max and the Aliens is based upon a story my big brother wrote when he was about 10 years old. It is a family favourite and was a lot of fun to adapt.
The Sluggard and the Ants rhyme is inspired by Proverbs 6:6 in the Bible, which reads, ‘Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!’
What is your favourite fact about pineapples?
There is a pineapple on the top of the Wimbledon men’s single’s trophy. I have no idea why.
What makes you happy?
Great people, good sport and good books are 3 things that put a big smile on my face. So does Jesus. Boom!
A random fact about you?
I once lived on Pineapple Road.

Where do you take your inspiration?
Hokusai’s ability to tell multiple stories across one image, Beatrix Potter’s entrepreneurial skills, and Quentin Blake’s gift of capturing characters and motion using his strong signature style.
What is your favourite fact about pineapples?
They can apparently regenerate, if you plant the leaves.
Pineapples are also the most flamboyant-looking fruit I can think of.
What makes you happy?
Learning about anything about Japanese culture, and truly learning a word from any foreign language.
A random fact about you?
I have been stung by a jellyfish, which wasn’t even alive…
